Performance detailsLIFT’s Midsummer Eve Event is an all night celebration in Battersea Park on the evening of the longest day to create a little urban magic. Come and enjoy the exquisite Cambodian shadow puppetry by firelight, work with installation artist Anne Bean to write a collaborative light poem on a bamboo frame to illuminate the night landscape. Listen to moods and grooves from Connecting Voices, singers linked to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. The event ends with the Reverend Nagase of the London Peace Pagoda leading a ceremony to welcome the dawn.

For the overnight event, we advise you to bring a cushion, warm clothing and some blankets if you’re intending to stay for the duration. Tea, coffee, soft drinks and refreshments will be available throughout the night.
Please note there is no shelter - come prepared for all weathers.
You might be interested to know that Sat 21 June is also the 19th anniversary of the London Peace Pagoda. Should you wish to attend this event organised by the London Peace Pagoda, the birthday celebration starts at 2pm.
